About Pure Stanza
Pure Stanza publishes one thing: a five-step beginner's course, for readers in Australia, on starting an online PC game on a desktop computer. There is nothing else on the site and nothing else planned for it.
Who publishes it
The publisher is MARTYNAT s.r.o., a company registered in the Czech Republic.
MARTYNAT s.r.o. Pod Hájkem 814/4, Libeň, 180 00 Praha 8, Czech Republic Company registration: 29126541 info@purestanza.onlineWriting is credited to the MARTYNAT s.r.o. editorial team. We do not publish author names, photographs or job titles, because a course of this kind does not need a personality attached to it and an invented one would be worse than none.
Editorial method
How the course was structured
We began from the order in which the decisions actually arise for someone who has never done this: understand what is being set up, check whether the machine can take it, read the contract, install and secure it, then decide how to live with it. Each step was written to stand alone for a reader who arrives at it directly, and to hand something concrete to the next step for a reader going in order. Each ends in a checklist because a checklist is what survives the reading.
The course deliberately avoids describing any particular product's screens. Interfaces change several times a year; the shape of the task does not. A general procedure is more honest and stays correct for longer.
What the sources are
Three categories, and we try to keep them visibly distinct.
- Australian public bodies for anything touching law, safety, privacy or classification: the Australian Classification Board, the eSafety Commissioner, the ACCC, the OAIC, Scamwatch and the Australian Cyber Security Centre. Where a step makes a claim in their territory, it links to them rather than paraphrasing authority it does not have.
- The operating system makers for the panels named in Step 2. Those instructions describe parts of Windows and macOS that a reader can open and verify immediately.
- The vendor for anything about a specific product. For the example title used throughout, we state only what its affiliate program states: that the commission is paid on a single opt-in, a download, and the creation and activation of an account, and that it is offered for Windows and macOS desktop computers and not for Linux. Everything else — pricing, inclusions, system requirements, download size — is left to the vendor's own website, and the course says so rather than filling the gap.
We publish no original testing, no benchmarks, no survey figures and no statistics of our own. We have not measured anything, so we do not report measurements.
The commercial relationship, stated plainly
Yes, there is one. The course uses World of Warships as its worked example, and the links to it are paid affiliate links: if a reader follows one and creates and activates an account, the affiliate network that operates the link pays MARTYNAT s.r.o. a commission. That is the only way this site earns anything. There is no advertising, no sponsorship and no paid placement of any other kind.
What that means for the writing, honestly. The example title was not chosen by an editorial comparison of games; it was chosen because an affiliate arrangement exists for it. You should read it as the example we are paid to be able to point at, and weigh it accordingly. What the commission does not do is change the content of the steps: the hardware advice, the terms-reading advice, the security advice and the spending advice would be identical with the links removed, and a reader can complete the whole course without following one. The full disclosure page sets out the arrangement in detail.
How often it is reviewed
The five steps and the checklists are reviewed at least twice a year, and sooner whenever one of the linked public bodies changes a page we rely on, or a reader tells us something is wrong. The review date in the footer of every page is updated when a review happens, and the effective date on each legal page is updated when that page changes. If a review changes the substance of a step rather than its wording, we say so in the step itself.
Corrections are welcome and are the fastest way to improve the course. Write to info@purestanza.online; the contact page explains what sort of message gets a useful reply.
What this site is not
- It is not the official site of any game publisher, nor a partner, reseller or authorised source for one.
- It is not a news service, and nothing here is reporting.
- It is not a personal blog, and no one's experience is described anywhere on it.
- It is not a download site. Software is downloaded from the people who make it.
- It is not accredited training. There is no enrolment, no assessment and no certificate, and nothing here is professional, legal, financial or security advice.
How the site is built
Static pages, one stylesheet, one short first-party script that opens the small-screen menu and runs the print button on the checklists page. No analytics, no advertising tags, no embedded video, no web fonts, no content delivery network. Your browser fetches nothing from any other server while reading this site, which is why there is no cookie banner: there are no cookies to consent to. The Cookie Policy sets out what was checked, and the Privacy Policy describes the only two things that exist at all — server access logs and emails you choose to send us.
